Dog Celebration Cake

Ingredients:

CAKE

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter Do NOT use a peanut butter with Xylitol as it's dangerous to dogs. Check ingredients!
  • 1/2 cup applesauce go with plain, unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree make sure you use pure pumpkin, not canned pumpkin pie mix
  • 1 egg

FROSTING

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and baking soda.
  3. In a separate bowl mix together vegetable oil, peanut butter, applesauce and pumpkin puree. Once combined, mix in egg and mix until combined.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  5. Pour mixture into an 8" round pan (a square pan can also be used) that has been greased with oil.
  6. Bake for approximately 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the cake springs back when pressed lightly.
  7. Allow to cool on a wire rack prior to removing from pan.
  8. After cooling, add frosting if desired.
  9. Frosting:
  10. Mix Greek yogurt and peanut butter until well combined. Spread over cake. If not serving immediately, store in refrigerator.
     

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Dog Treats

Ingredients:

  • ¼ Cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ Cup creamy peanut butter (make sure your PB brand does not contain xylitol)
  • 1 ¼ Cup old fashioned oats

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, stir ingredients together until fully combined
  2. Scoop dough and form into 1-inch balls
  3. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving to your dog!
  4. NOTE: You may want to adjust the portion size to the size of your dog. A bigger dog could eat a whole treat, but for a smaller dog it may be appropriate to halve the treat sizes.
     

Blueberry and Banana Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup oat flour
  • 2 Mashed bananas
  • 1/3 Cup melted coconut oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup blueberries
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. In a mixing bowl, stir ingredients together until fully combined
  3. Pour a small amount of mixture into each cup in a *lightly* greased cupcake pan
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through
  5. Top with whipped cream and berries if you’d like!
